There are so many different things you can do to your eyelashes to make them longer, darker and curlier. I’m going to review the current hottest trends for you including lash extensions, lifts and tints!
What are Eyelash Extensions?
Semi-permanent, individual lashes that are glued, painstakingly, to your actual lashes. Extensions last between 2-4 weeks depending on a lot of variables, i.e. how often/how aggressively you shower & wash your face, etc.
Price?
Depending on where you are the prices of extensions will vastly differ. In Erie a normal price for a full set of classic, semi-permanent lashes is around $100-$120 with partial fills running about $60. Hybrid lashes (which are more voluminous and dramatic than the classics) are more expensive closer to $150-$200. In Columbus, however, I have found that it is not unusual for extensions to be closer to $250-$300 per full set.
Appointment Length?
About 1.5-2 hours for a full set and 45 min- 1 hour for a fill.
Pros:
- They last for weeks so you don’t have to worry about putting them on every day
- They’re STUNNING
- No need to add mascara to them, I honestly don’t see much of a difference when I do, anyway
Cons:
- Soooo expensive
- Upkeep is a bitch, having to pay every 2-4 weeks for a fill is a pain
- They look so dumb when they start to fall out and you don’t get them filled
- They will temporarily ruin your natural lashes (Lashes completely fall out and are regrown about every 100 days, so if you’re prepared to wait for your lashes to recover then go for it).
What is a Lash Lift?
A lash lift is also known as a lash perm and that’s literally what it is. It’s a chemical treatment that curls your lashes from about 6-8 weeks.
Price?
Lash Lifts are frequently bundled with lash tints. When bundled they usually cost between $50-$75. Alone the lifts cost between $30-$50.
Appointment Length?
When bundled with a Lash Tint it takes about an hour, alone it takes about 45 minutes.
Pros:
- There is a significant different in lash appearance, not as dramatic as extensions but definitely noticeable
- Less expensive than extensions
- Last longer than extensions
- Low maintenance
Cons:
- I prefer the volume and length of extensions over the lift/tint but the lift/tint is much more manageable
What is a Lash Tint?
A Lash Tint is just a semi-permanent lash dye

Price?
As mentioned above, it is usually bundled with a Lash Lift but alone it usually costs between $15-$20.
Appointment Length?
About 15-20 minutes.
Pros:
- Super low cost
- If you have light eyelashes it makes quite a difference
- Quick
Cons:
- If you don’t have light eyelashes there is really no point. I have dark eyelashes and didn’t notice a difference post-tint
