Shopping for your boyfriend/husband is always a little scary.  If your man is anything like mine the “What would you like for Christmas?” question is always followed by a prompt “Nothing,” “I have everything I need,” “That ass wrapped in a bow,” or “Don’t spend a lot of money on me, you’re crazy.”  If YOU are anything like ME, your reaction to any one of those responses is to begin planning an elaborate barrage of gifts to give him, because if you get him everything you can think of he’s bound to like at least one of your gifts, right?

Gifts come in categories: Sentimental (shadow boxes and framed pictures…men love those, right?), experiential (concert or sporting event tickets), utilitarian (gloves, pocket knives, anything with a veil of testosterone), extravagant (things he won’t spend money on for himself, that he’s specifically ordered you NOT to get for him because “who spends that much money??”), and the basics (socks, tees, jeans, jackets…he’s basically a giant ken doll anyway..).

So here is my attempt to summarize some of the best gifts I’ve found from all of those categories, enjoy!

Personalized Glassware

I purchased 6 Pilsner glasses personalized, each with a different state (that my boyfriend and I have made memories in) etched on to the glass.  To go with the glasses I bought a 6 pack of assorted beers, each beer corresponding to a memory from the state on the glass!  I used EverythingEtchedAZ, a company on Etsy.  I have absolutely 0 complaints, they were incredibly helpful, delivery was fast and my glasses came out perfect!

NYT Sports History Book

If you’re dating a sports fan I think this is a super unique idea.  Straight from the New York Times website you can pick your sport and team and they will put together a book full of articles on the chosen team from their archives ranging from historical-recent.  You can even get the book personalized!

 

 

MVMT Watch

I love the MVMT watches! They’re affordable and come in a million colors and styles.  I usually go with all black everything but you know your man! Get him something he can wear with everything or get him something unique for special occasions…or both!

 

 

 

MijMoj Design Watch Stand

Etsy is my go-to place for unique gifts.  I love the idea of a personalized watch box but the watch stand takes that idea to a whole new level.  The stand creates  a completely unique aesthetic that would look great in any bedroom or bathroom! …or on the counter of a massive walk in closet I would assume, can’t say for sure on that one though…maybe someday,  The best part is you can get the stand engraved to add a personal touch!

 

uKeg Draft Growler

This  gift is another super cool one for a man who loves beer the way I love beer and the way I assume everyone else loves beer…it’s essentially a mini-keg.  It’s the size of a half gallon and keeps your beer just right for about two weeks!  If you frequent craft breweries it’s a great way to get draft beer from their tap to your mini tap, a short pit-stop before it makes the journey to your stomach.  Please do me a favor, though, if your boyfriend drinks Busch, PBR, Natty or any carbonated piss water variation just don’t waste your money…just kidding ya’ll.

 

 

Finally…if your man’s wardrobe needs an update…if you need an affordable way to take him from “Who Do You Know Here” Chad to a functional, stylish adult I highly recommend Eddie Bauer.  They always have incredible sales, their clothing is high quality and it’ll save you from having to walk around with a man that looks like the Ralph Lauren Polo Outlets just threw up all over him.
