We’ve all had that awkward moment ordering a new shot for the first time. The Bartender looks at you like you’re crazy…then it happens…they say “do you know what’s in it?” NO! You don’t, because you aren’t the Bartender, you’re just the customer ordering shots that probably don’t even exist.
So here is a list of the Classic need-to-know shots, along with some new trendy shots to try!
The Classics…
- Kamikaze: (Citrus) Vodka, Triple Sec, Lime
- Lemon-Drop: (Citrus) Vodka, Lemon, Sugar (this is the basis of a lemon drop. Some bartenders put their own spin on it, i.e. adding triple sec or a splash of lemonade)
- Buttery Nipple: Butterscotch Schnapps, (Bailey’s) Irish Cream
- Pineapple Upside Down Cake: (Vanilla or Whipped) Vodka, Pineapple Juice, Grenadine
- Mind Eraser: (Kahlua) Coffee Liqueur, Vodka, Soda Water. This shot/drink hybrid. You suck it down quickly with a straw if you’re brave!
Bombs…
- Jaeger Bomb: Jägermeister, Redbull
- Vegas Bomb: Crown Royal, Peach Schnapps, Redbull
- Irish Car Bomb: (Jameson) Irish Whiskey, (Bailey’s) Irish Cream, (Guinness) Irish Stout
- ______ Bomb: A bomb just refers to a shot consisting of vodka and Redbull. If you have a favorite flavored vodka you can order it as a bomb (i.e. cherry bomb-cherry vodka, redbull).
The Trendy…
- 5 Alive (personal fave): Bacardi O, Peach Schnapps, Triple Sec, Orange Juice, Redbull (Hence the “5” part)
- Tootsie Pop: Flavored Vodka, Crème de Cocoa, Redbull (tastes JUST like a tootsie pop & you can pick your flavor!)
- Pixie Stick: (This will be made differently by every bartender, this is how I like mine)…Cherry Vodka, Grape Vodka, Blue Hawaiian (Maui) Schnapps , Sours, Sprite
- White Gummy Bear: (This will be made differently by every bartender, this is how I like mine)…Cherry Vodka, Peach Schnapps, Sours, Sprite
- Scooby Snack: (Malibu) Coconut Rum, Crème de Bananas, Melon Schnapps, Pineapple Juice, Half&Half
- Purple Hooter: Vodka, (Chambord) Raspberry Liqueur, Sours, Sprite
- Pink Starburst: Vanilla Vodka, Watermelon Schnapps, Sours (I add a splash of sprite too)
